- The Pontypridd Chronicle and Workman's News 21/10/1905: Mr A. O. Evans, estate agent, wrote intimating that the Council would have to take the whole of the unlet portion of the main road between the police-station fence and the railway fence at Senghenydd for a fire station. [unknown if ever built at this location. 1920 1:2500 OS map has a building shown (Station Road, now Gwern Avenue), but unmarked]
